FAMILY SPONSORSHIP

One of the objectives of Immigration as per the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) is

“TO SEE THAT THE FAMILIES ARE REUNITED IN CANADA”.

In line with this objective of family reunification, Canada offers a variety of programs that allows the citizens and permanent residents, of the age of 18 or over to sponsor their family members to live, work or study in Canada.

Our Services

We are experienced in filing these applications:

  • Parents and Grand Parents Super Visa
  • Sponsor Your Parents and Grand Parents
  • Sponsor Your Spouse or Common-Law Partner
  • Sponsor Your Dependent Biological or Adopted Child

1. Super Visa for Parents & Grand Parents

Parents and Grandparents Super Visa is a popular option which allows them to stay in Canada for up to 2 years per visit on a temporary resident permit. It is a multiple-entry Visa, issued for up to 10 years. The process has strict eligibility requirements and the ask to meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) for the family. We are knowledgeable and skilled in handling these applications and make sure that we present your case with full honesty by including extensive documentation and relevant submissions.

2. Sponsor Your Parents and Grandparents (PGP)

The parents and grandparents sponsorship program allows the citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents and grandparents as Permanent Residents to come to Canada.

Eligibility

To be eligible under this program both the sponsor and the person being sponsored must meet certain eligibility requirements.

Sponsor Must

  • Be either a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada

  • Sign a sponsorship agreement to support the sponsored person and their dependents financially and provide for basic needs for a pre-defined period.

3. Sponsor Your Spouse or Common-Law Partner

A Canadian citizen, Registered Indian or a Permanent Resident of Canada who is 18 years of age or older, can sponsor their spouse, common law partner or conjugal partner for Permanent Residency, regardless of if they reside within or outside Canada.

If you’re applying under the Spouse or Common-law partner in Canada class, your spouse or partner may be eligible to apply for an Open Work Permit and can work in Canada while your sponsorship application is being processed.

Eligibility

  • Both the sponsor and the sponsored person must be 18 years of age,
  • The sponsor must demonstrate that they can provide for basic needs for themselves and their partner,
  • Sponsor must prove that their relationship with the sponsored person is genuine.

4. Sponsor Your Dependent Biological or Adopted Child

Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their dependent children whether biological or adopted to Canada as permanent residents.

Eligibility

Children qualify as dependants if:

  • They’re under 22 years of age and they do not have a spouse or common law partner
  • Children over 22 years of age who are unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition and are depended on their parents for financial support since before the age of 22

The dependent child must continue to meet these requirements until the processing of the application is complete.
